I'm guessing compositing is getting disabled, because I've been having a problem with the panel stopping updating when compositing is suspended for some time now. Could you comment on that? How can I check, if compositing is getting disabled?! Does the panel still look translucent and have a shadow above it? Well, my panel isn't translucent at all. But, what I can tell you, is that notification don't vanish. I can't click them away. Maybe I've got an notification (that is an email) while my screen was disabled. Oh, I'm, sorry. After uploading my screenshot, I noticed, my panel is indeed translucent. Next time, I'll will look at this sign.
