The autobrace went from feature to plugin (losing functionality on the way) and now appears to be completely gone.

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1. open kate
2. open settings
3. look desperately for your favourite functionality

Actual Results:  
It's nowhere to be found

Expected Results:  
a new autobrace plugin, replacing the extension from Kate 4

Should be brought back for the KDE Applications 15.08 release.
