After switching to canvas mode and closing all the files, "Canvas Only" mode remains active. Using the shortcut to get out of mode also fails to work.

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Open new file/canvas
2. Switch to "Canvas Only" mode
3. Close all files (via close shortcut or clicking tab's red X)

Actual Results:  
"Canvas Only" mode hangs (black screen); unable to use shortcut to exit out of mode. 

(Workaround: open/create a new file (using shortcut) to enable "Canvas Only" shortcut)

Expected Results:  
Automatically exit out of mode after last file is closed, or use shortcut to exit out of mode.

Thanks for your report. Well spotted -- that's something we do need to fix!

Hi Tiffany,

This is fixed in 3.0. I'm afraid that backporting the fix to 2.9 isn't possible. It's fixed because we rewrote the entire shortcut system for 3.0.
