Description Ettore Atalan 2015-04-28 11:27:57 UTC
Hi,

active program windows on desktop hinder Kicker from opening its application menu. Minimizing all active programs will work around this problem, but that's far from the normal usage of an application menu.

Best Regards,
Ettore Atalan

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Open a window on the desktop
2. Click on Kicker's application menu icon

Actual Results:
No application menu will be opened.

Expected Results:
An application menu.

This is of course not expected behavior (and the first report ever). Do you use a window manager other than kwin or have any window rules set up?
Comment 3 Ettore Atalan 2015-04-28 12:11:17 UTC
No.
Comment 4 Eike Hein 2015-04-28 12:15:27 UTC
What happens when you temporarily disable compositing (Ctrl+Shift+F12)?

Plasmashell crash report

You mean Alt+Shift+F12 for disabling compositing, right?

Unfortunately, the plasmashell crashes when disabling compositing temporarily.

Totally unrelated but do you have multiscreen setup?
Comment 7 Ettore Atalan 2015-04-29 11:45:15 UTC
No, only one screen.
Comment 8 Ettore Atalan 2015-04-29 20:14:22 UTC
All KDE widgets within the Plasma Panel do have this bug too.
Comment 9 David Edmundson 2016-04-13 01:19:24 UTC
Do you use focus follows mouse?

Can you include the output of qdbus org.kde.KWin supportInformation
and reset this bug to unconfirmed
