When change focus to other window (press Alt+Tab or click to another window) all panel which are configured as "Auto hide" are shown and stay visible until mouse move over them.

I am also seeing this issue. It happens even for newly-added panels with no widgets, and is the same however the window is switched (tested clicking a background window, opening a new application, Alt+Tab and Present Windows).

I don't know if it's relevant, but I have seen this behaviour when using Icons Only Task Manager and Task Manager. I have not tried with no task manager (is this possible?). But as I say, it can affect panels with no widgets so I don't think it is connected.

This appears to be a regression of this issue from late 2011: https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=258012

While it took me a while, I've also managed to reproduce this problem following the steps:
- Add a panel to the screen. (In my case this panel has Icons-Only Task Manager)
- Set it on auto-hide.
- Select the title of another window and while dragging it move it close to the panel to show it.
- The panel after it is shown, it won't hide until it's hovered again.

I'll add an video attachment for how to reproduce this problem soon.

P.S.: I'm using an fully upgraded Arch Linux using Plasma 5.4, so the packages aren't old.

I can't reproduce the problem on my dev system.
Does this still happen with latest 5.5? Please reopen if so.
Comment 5 Vojtěch Erben 2016-02-25 16:57:29 UTC
It doesn't happen with plasma 5.5 (Kubuntu 15.10)

I'm also unable to reproduce it. I believe that this bug can be closed...

Not yet, I hope. This behavior exists in KDE Plasma version 5.8.6, from openSuse 42.2 on a Toshiba laptop with an i5 CPU. It was a problem in 42.1 also. In addition, a mouse-over doesn't hide the panel when, for example, the Networks icon has opened the network manager window or when using Spectacle for a screen shot. Some of the content at the lower edge is always blocked by the panel.
Oddly, the problem does not (yet) appear on an AMD desktop with the same openSuse 42.2 installed. I hope I can supply any additional details you might want to treat this bug.
