Color History Ring in Popup palete randomly becomes unclickable. I really hate to use the word "random" here, but after messing with this for 2 hours I still cannot figure out what exactly caused te problem. It can happen after each of the following events:

<This is just a list of possible triggering events, NOT steps to reproduce>
1. Right-click over the pop-up palette;
2. Ctrl+Z;
3. B to switch to brush tool;
4. Color picking;
5. E to switch eraser mode;
6. Brush strokes;

I can reproduce this bug more often by:
1. Quickly right-clicking here and there (especially the Hue ring and Triangular Color Selector) on the pop-up palette multiple times until it closes;
2. Right-click to call out the pop-up palette again;
3. Randomly right-click here and there (especially the Hue ring and Triangular Color Selector) on the pop-up palette a few times, but this time don't let it close itself;
4. After that, there is a high chance the Color History Ring becomes unclickable. When it becomes unclickable, reopening pop-up palette sometimes fix it, sometimes doesn't.

This bug happens when I use stylus, I don't know if it can be triggered by a mouse. Remember BUG 346020 (where mouse works, but stylus doesn't)?

This bug is disastrous when dealing with pixel arts -- they require massive Color History Ring usage. The unpredictability makes it worse.

Sounds like a nasty bug to fix... Does it also happen if opengl is disabled? And if the color history is broken, can you still select presets, or is that broken, too?

I have this bug as well, with both mouse and stylus... It wasn't there in the psd-layerstyles branch before it merged.

But in my case it's something that only happens with certain patches, and sometimes certain presets.

Hi Boud, it doesn't seem to happen when OpenGL is disabled. When Color History is broken, I can still select from the presets.

After doing a bit more tests, it seems to a "command queue cannot be processed in time" problem? If I don't close pop-up palette when Color History is broken, it would come back to life after I wait for a while. Both left and right click on the Hue ring and Triangular Color Selector can cause congestion, it seems.

This bug might have been around like forever, I just noticed it recently because I happened to work on some pixel arts.

Ah, then it seems I am experiencing a different bug: The circular colour selector has a square clicking area which blocks me from picking colours and instead makes changed to the colour selector inside.

I also got the bug here ( Cinnamon 2.4 / Calligra 2.9 git ). I call the pop-up palette via a custom keyboard shortcut ( I removed all buttons on my stylus ). I use the pop-up palette only since recently ( bigger color triangle at center + tag choice for brush around really made it more attractive than previous versions )

Reproduces for me on today's build from git calligra/2.9. Can't exactly figure out what actions cause problem. Reproduces both with mouse and stylus.

Does this still happen in latest krita version. I tried to reproduce the issue by random and repeatedly right clicking on the popup pallete but for me it is working as it should. Am I missing something. Can you please check in the latest version of krita. The popup palette got revamped a bit in 3.0 I think it may have been solved.

For me I haven't had this bug reproduced since around after the 3.x came out (which I did before), and definitely can't reproduce on the 4.x version.
