Sentry Crash Report:

Description kdebugs 2015-04-14 23:35:30 UTC
The option "Do not close when command exits" is improperly handled by the Properties dialog of a link to application.

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Using a "Desktop icons" activity, right-click the desktop and select "Create New" -> "Link to Application..."
2. Click the "Application" tab.
3. Click "Advanced Options" and select "Run in terminal" and "Do not close when command exits". Press OK.
4. Click "Advanced Options" again. The "Do not close when command exits" is still selected. MAKE NO CHANGES and press Cancel.
5. Click "Advanced Options" a third time.

Actual Results:
This time the "Do not close when command exits" is no longer selected as it should be.

Duplicated the problem on two different machines (one 32-bit, one 64-bit OS) - both running Kubuntu 14.04 with ppa:kubuntu-ppa/backports (Workspace 4.11.11, KDE 4.14.2)

In addition to this, I noticed the full Menu editor does not show that option at all. It has "Run in terminal", but not "Do not close when command exits".

Neither option, including "Run in terminal", will not stay selected when I edit the application entry directly (Right-click -> Edit Application -> ... -> Advanced).

I am in Debian Testing, using menu editor 5.8.4, on July 12, 2017.

Hello!

This bug report was filed for KDE Plasma 4, which reached end-of-support status in August 2015. KDE Plasma 5's desktop shell has been almost completely rewritten for better performance and usability, so it is likely that this bug has already been resolved in Plasma 5.

Accordingly, we hope you understand why we must close this bug report. If the issue described here is still present in KDE Plasma 5.12 or later, please feel free to open a new ticket in the "plasmashell" product after reading https://community.kde.org/Get_Involved/Bug_Reporting

If you would like to get involved in KDE's bug triaging effort so that future mass bug closes like this are less likely, please read https://community.kde.org/Get_Involved#Bug_Triaging

Thanks for your understanding!

Nate Graham
