OpenGL is missing. Sorry - newbie. How do I get OpenGL installed if its not part of the daily build? Figured OpenGL was part of the ISO image? Thanks. One of two things. Either you're missing drivers for your graphic card or You're running it on a super super old machine that doesn't support openGL 2. running glxinfo from a terminal might tell you. Sorry I'm not of much use, we've had a few reports like this with the same assert they always end up being either some setup or hardware issue; at which point the best advice you'll get is googling for your specific hardware. Hope it gets fixed Thanks for that. I tried the same 32bit ISO in my newer Lenovo T500 laptop (64bit machine with 4Gb RAM) and have the exact same issue, Plasma crashes as soon as it starts - that is currently running Linux Mint 17.1 KDE 32bit with OpenGL enabled within Desktop Effects and works fine. I therefore tried the 64bit ISO of Kubuntu Plasma 5 and that works perfectly. So, to me, it looks like a problem with the 32bit image. Any how, thanks for your help. |
