I can't reproduce here and i've been testing for a while. All the folders moved correctly to the new location. Setting invalid paths worked as expected. Nothing in my direct home folder changed. Note this isn't meant to leave symlinks. It updates ~/.config/user-dirs.dirs which contains these paths. I'm going to need more information on what exactly you did to reproduce this. I understand that it isn't supposed to leave symlinks. I just noticed that after setting new paths, it would start "moving" documents, but ended up just moving all of the contents of my home folder somewhere (I don't know where). I will try to replicate this error in Virtualbox later to see if it was a fluke of my system, or an error Can you tell me what your home directory is (echo $HOME) or rather was. Found it.
