Comment 2 mzaam 2015-03-29 14:02:05 UTC
Intel GMA 3150 with mesa 10.5.1
Comment 3 Thomas Lübking 2015-03-29 20:28:27 UTC
please attach the output of

   qdbus org.kde.KWin /KWin supportInformation

when the tearing condition is present.
Does simply suspending/resuming the compositor (SHIFT+Alt+F12 to toggle) "help" as well?

Very remote hunch:
> Plugin: org.kde.kwin.aurorae
can you try the breeze decoration?
Comment 6 mzaam 2015-04-03 15:43:32 UTC
its wierd, i don't do anything and now i can't reproduce the bug using any decoration.

i even turned off tearing prevention and i still got no tearing at all.

Driver side sync?

Section "Device"
   Identifier "Intel Graphics"
   Driver "intel"
   Option "TearFree" "true"
EndSection

check /var/log/Xorg.0.log for the option.
Comment 8 mzaam 2015-04-03 17:12:40 UTC
result from my Xorg.0.log
[    21.438] (==) intel(0): TearFree disabled

very surprising
