Sometimes, when operating with desktop icons, a error message dialog will be trigged, such as "Error launching /home/yuer/.local/share/applications/soffice.desktop. Either KLauncher is not running anymore, or it failed to start the application.", but the dialog does not show foregroundly frequently, this causes the whole desktop freezed.

Can you be more specific about how you are launching the applications when getting this message.

No info provided for long time, assuming fixed.
