Description Rob 2015-02-28 19:16:35 UTC
Using Linux Mint. Downloaded from their repository. Have everything setup as should be for reminders (enable reminders, added reminders, etc.). Using 'New events'. Have tested a few days in advance to see if reminders pop up (one day before event) anywhere. No luck. No popups, no notifications, nothing. Absolutely nothing happens when an event comes close - not even on the actual event day.

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Personal calendar, New event - all day event - not checked 'blocks me for other events'
2. Reminder - one day before event - Add
3. Recurrence - doesn't matter what is selected.

Actual Results:
Nothing happens a day before nor nothing happens on the actual event day. I miss the event completely because of no notification. The Daemon IS running in the background.

Expected Results:
To get some notification somewhere.

Forgot to mention that I'm using Linux Mint 17.1 Cinnamon (2.4.6) 64bit.
Comment 2 Rob 2015-03-07 21:54:55 UTC
A popup finally came up last night with about 4 items that I had for events. What was common was a field called "trigger date" in which they all had the same date. I looked at anything refering to 'trigger' in the setup, but could find nothing. The only thing that DID have that date was in the recurrence exceptions - which was NOT even added.

neoclust and I have encountered a very similar problem on Mageia Linux v6 x86-64 (including when task-plasma5 and all "rpm -qa --recommends" are installed and a pristine sta2 installation). Namely no alerts/alarms/reminders/event notifications are displayed, and there are no errors in the konsole that invoked it. Please let me know if I can prove of further help.
Comment 4 Andrzej 2017-10-30 10:54:16 UTC
I get a following error when trying to start korgac in terminal:

"\"CalendarsLastChecked\" - conversion of \"0,0,0,-1,-1,-1\" to QDateTime failed"

korgac seems to work(appears in system tray), but there are no notifications or alarms for any events.

korgac 5.5.3
Kubuntu 17.10 brand new install
Comment 5 Andrzej 2017-10-30 10:58:54 UTC
Enable Reminders is checked.
Comment 6 Luca Olivetti 2017-11-01 08:52:00 UTC
Same here after I upgraded the system to kubuntu 17.10 (previously the reminders worked).
Since I also had problems editing existing events (double clicking on an event korganizer did prompt me if I wanted to edit the single instance or all the repeating ones but then it did nothing) or adding new events (it didn't allow me to select any calendar in the event), I also deleted all korganizer related configuration in .local , .kde and .config and made an all new calendar but the problem is still there.
Comment 7 Jaak Ristioja 2018-06-01 19:44:50 UTC
Same here on Gentoo Linux with a fresh install of KOrganizer 18.04.1.

Andrzej, if this persists, please open a different ticket titled something like "KOrganizer alarm daemon fails to start (conversion to QDateTime failed)"
Comment 9 Philippe Cloutier 2019-07-09 04:26:42 UTC
Rob, Shlomi, Luca, Jaak, does this persist with your current version, and if so, do you have the "Enable Reminders" korgac option enabled? This option is - very strangely - not visible in the configuration of KOrganizer itself. To enable it, you must right-click the daemon's system tray icon, then left-click "Enable Reminders".
Comment 10 Luca Olivetti 2019-07-09 19:44:56 UTC
Yeah, it works now (ubuntu 19.04).
I forgot to update this bug because in the meantime I put those reminders in lightning.
Comment 11 Philippe Cloutier 2019-07-12 03:58:46 UTC
I am flagging this ticket as waiting for more information, but I just noticed that Rob indicated he had "enable reminders" enabled, so Rob, please just indicate the most recent version with which you reproduce this bug.
