Works fine in regular mode, but in VI mode crashes every time.

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Open Kate in VI mode
2. Enter find mode with either / or Ctrl-F
3. Type any character

Actual Results:  
Crash

Expected Results:  
Find character

"Major" because "find" is a pretty fundamental function of a text editor.
