How to reproduce
 * Write moo
 * Press enter
 * Press Ctrl+shift+f (i.e. start search)
 * Search for moo
 * highlight appears over the first line that contains moo
 * Press Ctrl+Shift+k (the clean and reset shortcut)
 * See how the highlight stays around

Also the search field stays green (when it should probably turn red). I can report that as a separate bug if you want but did not since it may be related.
