Same for me, except I don't even need to go into browse mode after launch (if it's already selected at the start). I get the error messages immediately on launch. I also get exactly five error boxes. I can stop the error messages by staying in browse mode, but changing the tab at the bottom from "Folders" to "Information" or "Operations", and relaunching. If I click on "Folders" for the first time after launch, I get the five error boxes. Arch Linux The package manager says gwenview 14.12.2, but the GUI menu says Gwenview 5.0.0 pre, using KDE Frameworks 5.6.0. since no return i switched to Limboo, for now. I would be happy to know when it's fixed! Thx I have the same problem in Manjaro on Kernel 3.14.35-1 with Gwenvie 5.0.0 pre. In Octopi Version 14.12.3-1 is listed and after installing I have version 5.0.0pre. There are other bugs as well it seems... I have been receiving a similar error but Only after the upgrade of Ubuntu to 15.04. When i browse to any mount point i get : URL cannot be listed file:///mnt/DataDrive Same Error message for me with Archlinux KDE 5.8.0 Gwenview 5.0.0 pre whenever I open an image in Gwenview I have the same issue. ArchLinux OpenBox, Gwenview - 5.0.0 using KDE Frameworks 5.10. I had to switch to the different ImageViewer software. I am reporting the same problem. Having upgraded to Ubuntu 15.04 (or Plasma 5, makes no difference); I am getting the same message. I have tried to purge Gwenview (5.0.0), search & delete manually all leftover files & folders as a root with Krusader, install clean new Gwenview from Terminal and still the same bug. Actually, when I tried to run the program first time, there was the same list of places & entries on the right side of the home page, as there was before the removal, so possibly Krusader had not found it all?? Is there any other config file hidden?? Anyway, interestingly, I can add a place into the list, Gwenview CAN search for it anywhere & make it as new place in the home page, but when I try to click on it's ikon, it shows the same message, reported here. Hope it could be fixed pretty soon... although there seems to be a way to open any picture in Gwenview still Dolphin, etc. by using right click and choosing "open with", it is making this program useless. I was using it for a years as my default viewer and do not really no, how to replace it on Linux... it was just the best. By the way, how will I learn, if it was fixed??? *** This bug has been confirmed by popular vote. *** This is happening in one of my computers. Both have gwenview 4:14.12.3-0ubuntu1, but in one it is working fine, and in the other it is not. Tried uninstalling (removing config) and reinstalling, but there is no change. Ok, just fixed the issue by installing the packages kinit and kio, as suggested in http://askubuntu.com/a/617956/221115. These should be packages required or at least recommended by gwenview. seems corrected @Olivier: has the dependency issue been fixed then? I had this issue just a few weeks ago, using version 5.0.0 pre. On Gwenview 5.0.0, KDE 5.12 (archlinux) I wasn't able to reproduce the pb again. If it still happens, feel free to reopen the issue. Hi, I am adding for posterity's sake a few more lines. I'm on Linux Mint 18 XFCE. I love Gwenview, and I installed it. It turns out that a lot of extra KDE stuff needs to be installed to make Gwenview run properly, so I'm not even going to try to list them all. Simply put, the packages mentioned above, namely kinit and kio, helped, but didn't solve it. I finally found a real working solution for my scenario over here: https://forum.ubuntuusers.de/topic/gwenview-findet-den-pfad-der-bilder-nicht/ It is in German, but basically, after installing kinfocenter along with all it's dependencies and rebooting the error popup that started this discussion was finally cured. Hopefully this may help another user who needs a guiding hand in the dark which KDE on non-KDE systems can be sometimes. |
