Description Bollebib 2015-02-09 17:22:15 UTC
When a filter dialog is open (like blur) make it still possible to change a layer if you see the effect is added to wrong layer. And don't auto-apply when changing layers, just keep the dialog open so changes can be made.

This because this seems more useful and versatile, and more of an expected behaviour.

This is not needed for filter masks,I think,as you can easily move a filter mask to another layer

18:10:36 - Bollebib: dmitryK: I was wondering about a practical implementation ,if it's possible
18:11:13 - Bollebib: right now when you activate the options for a filter
18:11:32 - Bollebib: if you then select a layer, the filter gets applied immediatly
18:12:13 - Bollebib: dmitryK: I wonder if it would not be better to not apply the filter, but merely change the layer and thus change the layer which will get the filter effect
18:12:25 - dmitryK: erm...
18:12:34 - dmitryK: where do you select it?
18:12:58 - Bollebib: in layer box?
18:14:21 - Bollebib: dmitryK: so for example if the options for pixelize are active, and then you see the wrong layer will be getting the effect, you then just change the layer, and don't apply
18:14:21 - Bollebib: (right now apply is automatic)
18:15:14 - dmitryK: you mean filter dialog or mask creation dialog?
18:15:31 - Bollebib: So I wonder if that is at all possible,or if it's too much work for what you get out of it
18:15:42 - Bollebib: filter dialog mainly
18:15:48 - Bollebib: I'll have to see for the mask..
18:16:30 - Bollebib: dmitryK: mmmh,no,for the mask you're already presuambly on the correct layer, and you can move the filter around anyway,no?
18:17:04 - dmitryK: Bollebib: it is possible, add a bug about it

WISHGROUP: Out of scope

Sorry, we will not in the near future get down to this: it is technically extremely challenging. You can make a filter mask, though and D&D that to different layers.
