I just converted my Fedora 20 system to Fedora 21 and am seeing ktorrent apparently consume all memory and swap in the system. There have been no changes to ktorrent as far as I can tell which leads to the conclusion that Fedora 21 x86_64 has a memory leak.

I would love to try gathering info for this problem but need some hints as to how to do this. I have a development version of valgrind available... or I could use the distributed version.

Any help would be appreciated.

After two days of valgrind the problem has failed to appear. Maybe valgrind scared it off?

Hello,
  I experienced such case on Fedora 21 several times, always when I inserted certain magnets link via Ctrl+P dialog. KTorrent took 100% of the given core then, and the memory is gradually allocated until out of room. I had to kill -9 it. Most of the magnets work perfectly, it is few cases like the magnet below causing the problem, 100% repeatable in my installation;

I'm not sure if it is the same case as other people have been reporting above. Can't say if the problem is rather a glitch in KTorrent vs KDE 4.14.3 gui, or if it is related to magnet parsing and processing either.

I'm getting a memory leak as well, i had about 5 torrents ranging 2-5GB all started from magnet links, memory usage climbed up to around 4GB for a few hours running, restarting it led to the same result. 

Same KTorrent version, Fedora 22.

I've posted a graph to show how Ktorrent consumes memory gradually. I'm only seeding 3 files. This behavior has not changed since install. (Mageia 5.1)

I have to Shutdown the Application every 5-7 days or so to avoid swap usage.
