Now I used face recognition, it found about 40 pictures, like 10 I have not tagged, as it haven't been faces. The left 30 ones I tagged with existing people tags. Digikam says it's applying the changes, 0% progress in half an hour. Digikam needs 14G of my memory at the moment, processor just at 2%. The harddrive is under heavy use the whole time. The system is very slow responding. I had this earlier this day. But filing this crash a havent had this problem. Beside this I saw, that already tagged pictures reappeared in the face recognition window. They first disappear if I put in a name into the face tag field as expected but after a while they come back into the window. I thought, not finished writing the tags into database or files maybe the GUI of Digikam is faster and still see them as not tagged now. *** This bug has been marked as a duplicate of bug 338176 *** Actually I wrote face recognition but I meant face detection. I dont remember I have ever used face recognition. But the behavior looks quite the same like bug 338176 Problem is fixed with new 7.0.0-beta1 through this long story from this bug https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=399923 You can test digiKam 7.0.0-beta1 with bundle available here: https://download.kde.org/unstable/digikam/ Don't hesitate to give us a fresh feedback about his entry.
