Which poppler version are you using?

Does it also happen if press properties and accept on the printing dialog?

And does it work if you change the orientation in the print dialog propertieS?

no'p
It don't work
But I've discovered that the pdf I was trying to print was not in the
proper letter format. it was en 432x279 mm (ledger) looking at the
File/properties dialog
Changing that to 279x216 mm (Landscape letter) fixed the printing of this
particular document. However, Okular should scale properly the pdf to fit
the page.
I had any problem printing this 432x279 mm (ledger) pdf in Evince

Comment 8 Albert Astals Cid 2015-01-25 15:13:16 UTC
It does scale to fit the page when it's too big, scaling to fit the page when it's too small is 339176

So unless you disagree we'll close this bug.

Philippe, any objection to comment #8?
Comment 10 Philippe Demartin 2015-02-15 02:56:07 UTC
It still strange that Okular is nos able to scale down properly a larger pdf but, ok to close the bug
