Transferring a lot of files to a slow device (e.g. a phone, via mtp) shows the animation for a long time in the notification area - and that takes up considerable cpu resources. This also makes my laptop heat up a lot. In general, a separate icon for ongoing activity is preferable to an animation to conserve resources. I'm using: kde-workspace-4.11.14-3.fc21.x86_64 'top' output for a long-running copy: 1296 root 20 0 489448 139876 109076 S 22.2 1.7 40:11.68 Xorg.bin 1943 amit 20 0 3566032 227152 72792 S 22.2 2.8 49:02.05 plasma-desktop Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1. Copy a file 2. 3. Actual Results: See animation in notification area Expected Results: No animations while file transfer in progress
