Description Amit Shah 2014-12-26 17:21:53 UTC
Transferring a lot of files to a slow device (e.g. a phone, via mtp) shows the animation for a long time in the notification area - and that takes up considerable cpu resources. This also makes my laptop heat up a lot.

In general, a separate icon for ongoing activity is preferable to an animation to conserve resources.

I'm using:
kde-workspace-4.11.14-3.fc21.x86_64

'top' output for a long-running copy:

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Copy a file
2.
3.

Actual Results:
See animation in notification area

Expected Results:
No animations while file transfer in progress
