Description Keith Zubot-Gephart 2014-12-13 22:30:20 UTC
Having installed Plasma 5 from the Kubuntu "next" PPA (plasma-desktop version 5.1.1-0ubuntu1~ubuntu14.10~ppa1), I have in theory a stock install (and I've since gone through and tried to restore-to-default every possibly related setting), but every text field in Plasma, as well as some places where icons are supposed to be displayed, is somewhat off-kilter. I'm doing poorly at explaining this, but I'll attach a screenshot typical of the way text is mishandled by way of KRunner, and images by way of Kickoff.

It's worth mentioning that this also occurs in SDDM, at least obviously the text field problem, and that my PC in question is a Chromebook Pixel, so a 2560x1700 screen.

Reproducible: Always

Not 100% sure this is the same issue entirely, since my own font settings are:

General: Oxygen-Sans 10
Fixed width: Oxygen Mono 9
Small: Oxygen-Sans 8
Toolbar: Oxygen-Sans 9
Menu: Oxygen-Sans 10
Window title: Oxygen-Sans 10

Perhaps it's the same issue underlying it, but due to attempts at handling HiDPI?

definitely high dpi issue
