More generally the current lumping of all search results into one big result list is less than ideal. With desktop search disabled I can type 'fir' and firefox will be the first hit. With desktop search enabled I get "'fire.mp3' 'first outline.doc' 'fight fire with fire.png'" etc. This is not good for something billed as an application launcher. IMO a better solution would be a separate dedicated interface for searching for files with the kickoff (kicker? not clear on the current terminology, but I'm talking about the main abblication launcher in the taskbar) limited only to applications, or to sort the results by type a la windows. *** Bug 351612 has been marked as a duplicate of this bug. *** sCannot confirm this bug - search result appear fast for me in: CPU: Dual-Core Celeron 2.1 GHz from 2010 Distribution: KDE neon Developer Edition Unstable Branches KDE Plasma Version: 5.10.90 KDE Frameworks Version: 5.37.0 Qt Version: 5.9.1 Kernel Version: 4.10.0-32-generic Works for me too in recent versions of Plasma. Let's call it fixed unless we get a new report. |
