Description DrSlony 2014-10-01 05:47:14 UTC
The Display module in System Settings has a "Save as Default" button, but it lacks a "Defaults" or "Load Defaults" one. In effect, saving defaults is precisely pointless.

I hookup my laptop to the TV via HDMI. In Display I set HDMI-0's size to 1920x1080 and position to "clone of", click "Save as Defaults", click apply.
Next time I hook the TV up, I have to do this again, there is no way to click a single button to get my favorite settings back.

Reproducible: Always

As I am not clear which module corresponds to which component, I will use screenshots to clarify.
When I wrote this report, I only had the old "Display" module installed. Now I installed kscreen-1.0.71 and libkscreen-1.0.5.

This module http://i.imgur.com/nJQ3r8H.png which I believe to be kscreen does not have a "defaults" button, so this bug report does not apply to it.

It does apply to this module http://i.imgur.com/Ms48udf.png which looks like the old Display one.

Thanks for reporting your bug.

Since reporting Krandr has since been replaced by KScreen. It is available in the Plasma 4 series, and is default in Plasma 5 onwards.

I hope this solves your issue. If you still have a problem after upgrading please reopen a new bug under kscreen.

Thanks
