Description Alphazo 2014-08-29 09:27:08 UTC
I often use the Group by format function in combination with the "Show sub-albums" feature.

I have noticed that most of the time, if I display a directory that contains both JPG and RAW files (any brand) with such settings I end up with three groups of pictures instead of two. All the files in this directory and sub-directories are coming from the same camera and properly named like :
- 2014-08_Test_001.JPG
- 2014-08_Test_001.RAF
- 2014-08_Test_002.JPG
- 2014-08_Test_002.RAF
...

It is still obscure to me on how each of the two RAW groups are populated:

FUJI-RAF
5 elements

JPEG
40 elements

Fichier image RAW ( << RAF >>)
35 elements

Do you seen same behavior in standard icon-view mode (not table-view) ?

Problem only occurs in Thumbnail (which I believe you call icon-view) and not table view. See attached for an example of both views.

Groups don't seem to be listed or I might missing a column so problem doesn't show up here.

Comment 6 Alphazo 2016-07-07 08:02:23 UTC
Hi Gilles,

Unfortunately this bug still applies on the latest 5.0.0 release. In order for you to duplicate it I have a put together a file set that exhibits the problem.

https://natzo.com/files/2014-03_Nettoyage-Capteur.zip

- Unzip the directory found in the above archive and add it to your collection.
- Select View/Thumbnails
- Select View/Include Album Sub-Tree
- Select View/Group Images/By Format
- Select the top directory that was imported

You should seed on the thumbnail list (icons):
- A first group of one file called JPEG
- A second group of 8 files called JPEG
- A third group of 2 files called NIKON-NEF
- A fourth group of 6 files called RAW image file (NEF)

PS: This happens not only with Nikon RAW but also with Fuji RAF files.

I see only two groups, 9 files called Jpeg and 9 files called NEF. I think this is right. Use you SQLite or MySQL DB?

Maik
Comment 8 Alphazo 2016-07-07 19:28:06 UTC
@Maik I use SQLite.

Attached is what I see.

Can you reproduce the problem using digiKam Linux AppImage bundle ? The last
bundle is available at this url:

I cannot reproduce this issue with Digikam 6.0.0. @Alphazo, do you still experience this problem?
