Thanks for the bug report. Dolphin does not access this file directly - this is done by the KBookmarkManager class which is part of KIO AFAIK. You might see the same problem in the file dialog of other KDE applications. We can reassign this report, but we need the Dolphin/KDE SC version. Thanks for the update - I'll reassign to KIO then. Note that 4.12.5 is actually a bit outdated already. You might want to upgrade to a newer version and check if that fixes the problem.
