+++ This bug was initially created as a clone of Bug #138788 +++

Version: Version 1.5.5 Using KDE Development Platform 4.11.5
Installed from: http://download.opensuse.org/update/13.1/
OS: openSUSE Linux 13.1 x86_64

The tab button never allows me to insert a tab, whether or not the "Allow Tabulations" check box is checked.

I've tried with different contacts using different protocols.

CTRL-I *always* lets me insert a tab, regardless of the setting, by the way.

Also (but probably a separate bug), the "Allow Tabulations" setting is never saved, globally, or per-contact. Easily reproducible: open a chat, de-select "Allow Tabulations", close the window. Option will be selected next time you open a chat, to that contact or any other.

Dear Bug Submitter,

This bug has been stagnant for a long time. Could you help us out and re-test if the bug is valid in the latest version? I am setting the status to NEEDSINFO pending your response, please change the Status back to REPORTED when you respond.

Thank you for helping us make KDE software even better for everyone!

I've tested it again on Kopete 1.13.0 using OpenSuse Leap 15.0 with KDE 4.14.38 but the bug is still alive.

Thanks for the update!

Dear user, unfortunately Kopete is no longer maintained.

Please migrate to another solution, e.g. for Jabber a possibility is Kaidan, for Matrix a candidate is NeoChat.
