Description Wyatt Epp 2014-07-27 07:46:33 UTC
With 2.8, I can't shrink the width of the context pane below a certain point. I use vertical screens, so that's really inconvenient.
Comment 1 Myriam Schweingruber 2014-07-27 15:53:42 UTC
KRuler shows a limit of 400 px. Any specific width you would prefer? What exactly is the screen resolution you use?

Mind you, if you want to hide the Context View, you can do that as well, it is just not very sound to go below a certain width as the content wouldn't be displayed correctly anymore. It would be rather difficult to display for example the Wikipedia content below 400 px.

How about adding the Context View as a Tab rather than having it visible all the time, so you can easily switch between the views?
Comment 2 Wyatt Epp 2014-07-27 20:53:00 UTC
No, there's no specific limit that I could arbitrarily choose that would satisfy all users. That's impossible on its face. My screen width is going to be 1024 or 1080, depending on which workstation I'm at, so 400px is rather huge.

The things I use the context pane for didn't need this limitation before and don't need it now; I filed this because it's a regression from the previous behaviour that allowed every user to choose any width they wanted.

Neither do I need advice on how to configure my layout. It was already as close as I can get to how I want it given the limitations of Amarok 2.x.
