what kind of thumbnails are you talking about? Thumbnails preview from the task manager. http://i.imgur.com/YiaZmnZ.png - does other animated content run ("glxgears" etc.)
- does it happen with suspended compositing? (Shift+Alt+F12)
- does it happen with xrender compositing?
(In reply to Thomas Lübking from comment #3) > - does other animated content run ("glxgears" etc.) > - does it happen with suspended compositing? (Shift+Alt+F12) > - does it happen with xrender compositing? glxgears and opengl games also freezes Same Issue with Xrender Works fine with composition suspended Could you please provide the output of: qdbus org.kde.KWin /KWin supportInformation when the problem occurs. Reassigning to plasma-frameworks as that's where the Thumbnail component lives. Note: I tested the development of the component with video playback. output of qdbus org.kde.KWin /KWin supportInformation: http://paste.kde.org/ppklefvjc It appears to be the same whether the video is freezed or not. can you activate the "show paint" effect and see whether the video region keeps flickering (despite the window being frozen)? (In reply to Thomas Lübking from comment #7) > can you activate the "show paint" effect and see whether the video region > keeps flickering (despite the window being frozen)? The entire screen stops repainting, all is frozen in place. can you please attach /var/log/Xorg.0.log? Created attachment 87838 [details]

Aha, glamor ;-) Can you try what happens when using EXA as acceleration method: https://wiki.archlinux.org/index.php/ATI#Glamor (In reply to Thomas Lübking from comment #11) > Aha, glamor ;-) > > Can you try what happens when using EXA as acceleration method: > https://wiki.archlinux.org/index.php/ATI#Glamor Same thing with EXA. also with xrender compositing? (In reply to Thomas Lübking from comment #13) > also with xrender compositing? Yes. Dear Bug Submitter, This bug has been stagnant for a long time. Could you help us out and re-test if the bug is valid in the latest version? I am setting the status to NEEDSINFO pending your response, please change the Status back to REPORTED when you respond. Thank you for helping us make KDE software even better for everyone! (In reply to Andrew Crouthamel from comment #15) > Dear Bug Submitter, > > This bug has been stagnant for a long time. I don't have the issue any more. I also don't know by what version it was fixed. If you're curious, here's a video of what the issue was: https://youtu.be/DaLEZACZmmo?t=323 If no one else is experiencing the issue, it should closed. Keep up the good work. Thanks for the update! |
