Some areas are not rendered correctly at certain zoom levels. If you increase/decrease the zoom they "may" update correctly or show a pixelated tile. As noticed by Earthwings when I asked in the IRC channel, it seems that marble queries tiles with parameters other than google expects. For example:

   http://khm.google.com/kh/v=138&hl=de&x=6&s=&y=5&z=3&s=Ga

returns

   404. That’s an error.

The requested URL /kh/v=138&hl=de&x=6&s=&y=5&z=3&s=Ga was not found on this server. That’s all we know.

The next links are for example images showing a partially bad rendered location and the same location increasing the zoom one step.

It seems that the error has been resolved with an update. It works with KDE 4.14.1 and Marble 1.9.0.
