Description Prateek 2014-07-16 14:35:32 UTC
Kile showed a tip-of-the-day enticing me to use forward search, and pointing me to the manual, with a link saying "read the manual to find out how to activate this feature" ( http://imgur.com/IhZ6qY7 ). Ooh, let's go to the manual! I click on the link, and see this: http://imgur.com/NEFJ7V6 . Yes, I'm greeted with a blank window with some blahdocumentationnotfoundblah text on top.

Now, this is particularly rude on Kile's part. If it doesn't have the docs, well ok, but at least it shouldn't pop out a window going out of its way to troll the user.

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1. In Kile, go to Help -> Tip of the Day.
2. Scroll through the tips until you get the one shown in the screenshot.
3. Click on the link to the manual.
Actual Results:
A blank page is seen, as shown in the screenshot.

Expected Results:
A manual should have opened. Where is the manual, is it installed, etc, is not the end user's problem. If a link points to a manual, when clicked, the manual should open, period.

Even better, the tip could tell the user directly how to enable this feature and guide the user through it, eliminating the need for this manual.

Kile 3 will no longer have Tips of the Day.
