Currently the App appears to run at all times, regardless of the state of network. 

It would be better if the app would start up by catching network config intents.

Also, as in https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=337250 the App should probably ask (and remember) which networks are safe to use.

Same here : it's pretty suboptimal that KDE Connect keeps trying to connect even though wifi is off. I also support OP's suggestion to restrict connexion based on SSID.

I rather activate it only on manual request.

The application doesn't talk to non-wifi now, should be fine.
