Here's how to reproduce the crash:

* Open "Show Thumbnails"
* Change a file's name to something else via shell etc.
* Do "Maintainance" --> "Rescan for Images and Videos" (the thumbnail for the moved file disappears)
* Try to open the image in the annotation dialog or viewer --> KPA crashes

If one does the very same without "Show Thumbnails" being opened, there's no problem.

One important thing to note: while renaming the file, the Viewer should be open. Otherwise I can't reproduce the crash.

I believe this issue was fixed by d23e928fd7cedc4d039480d69c88f0e92cb1f48a.
