I propose to disable the hearable "plo" sound when changing volume.

Explanation: The volume change is a user-triggered action. The user usually is well aware that she is trying to increase the volume, so giving feedback that a volume change, indeed, has happened, is of little use.

It is even annoying because a volume change usually doesn't come alone: I personally scroll up/down until I find a pleasurable volume setting. With the default as it is now, this is accompanied by a series of annoying "plop" sounds, which made me immediately look for an option to disable it.

The pop sound is played so that the user can know how loud his speakers are (in case no sound is being played) and not to give feedback on volume change.

Reasonable request, even Android has the option to turn off volume 'plop'.

You can already turn this feature off in Audio Volume settings:
Volume feedback (checkbox)


On a personal note, I very much welcome this feature being enabled by default and would be disappointed if that were changed.

The setting works. I think you can close this bug, although the title says "default to..", i think OP is fine with having an option while leaving default as is, as in his last sentence he says "..look for an option to disable it".
