In addition to sort by date it is usually 
desirable to prioritize the tasks on a given
day.   Perhaps something along the
lines of an extendable sort wizard:
x Sort on <field string>
O and the sort on <greyed out empty field>
---
If they check the 2nd item they can enter
a 2nd field string and then the last
line with the unchecked box on the left 
is displayed again on a third line etc...

    This is very helpful to see the "good stuff" at the top, and non important stuff at the bottom.
    Until now, while sorting by priority or due date, when both values were equal, items were placed in an arbitrary way.
