While you can set an application's icon to a .ico file, it is not listed as acceptable in the file browser for choosing an icon.

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Edit the icon picture
2. Browse for other icons
3. Look for a .ico icon file
Actual Results:  
The file is filtered out

Expected Results:  
The file is shown

You can clear the file filtering and select the .ico file without issue.
