Signature is broken here, saved directly from the mail folder.

Description quazgar 2014-06-11 09:36:40 UTC
When attaching a file which contains "From ", the signature is invalid.

Interestingly, the signature is displayed as valid in the sent-mail folder, but as invalid in the inbox.

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Create a text file with "From " in it
2. Attach the file to an email
3. Sign the email
4. Send it to yourself
5. Check the signatures in the sent-mail folder and in the inbox
Actual Results:
Signature in the sent-mail folder is OK, signature in the inbox is not.

Expected Results:
Signatures should be OK.

See the attachments, saved directly from the mail folder.

Interestingly, the mail body & attachment seems to be duplicated in these mails, with different encodings.

The only difference seems to be the additional ">" in front of the "From " line. Also note that upon saving the received email from within KMail with "File > Save as ...", this ">" is duplicated so that the line becomes ">>From ".

This bug may be related to bug #303305 and maybe also #332036.

This bug has only been reported for versions before 4.14, which have been unsupported for at least two years now. Can anyone tell if this bug still present?

If noone confirms this bug for a Framework-based version of kmail2 (version 5.0 or later, as part of KDE Applications 15.12 or later), it gets closed in about three months.

I cannot reproduce it ad-hoc anymore, wasn't it fixed together with bug #303305? Maybe Sandro knows more?
Comment 5 Sandro Knauß 2016-09-26 21:39:58 UTC
This is a duplicate of 303305 and should be fixed with that together.
