Description pbea 2014-05-26 02:30:45 UTC
I was copying a large quantity of files when I noticed (see attachment) that my preset 12hr time format was not showing but was replaced by 24hr format along with AM/PM.

The AM/PM was displaying with the time in 24hr format.

The time returned to normal 12hr AM/PM after the copying was complete.

The A.M./P.M. is normal. I set it up in sytemsettings/locale.

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1. set the time for 12hr display
2. transfer some files
3. 24 hr time displays in place of 12hr time along with AM/PM

Actual Results:
see above

Expected Results:
the time should remain in 12hr AM/PM format

I am using Kubuntu 14.04 with all updates

Thanks for the bug report. I have not been able to reproduce the problem yet.

In any case, it looks like it would be a problem in KLocale - this is the code in Dolphin that is used to determine the text to be shown on the screen (in kfileitemlistwidget.cpp):

    const QDateTime dateTime = roleValue.toDateTime();
    text = KGlobal::locale()->formatDateTime(dateTime);

Hello . . .

Unfortunately the problem is quite widespread (see attached).

It appears to be common across all directories.
