Sentry Crash Report:

Description Michael D 2014-05-15 14:01:19 UTC
On a fresh install of Kubuntu 14.04 (on an SSD and modern hardware), there is about a one minute delay between starting Kile, and the interface becoming usable. I cannot click on buttons or the file menu or anything for about a minute after starting Kile. This did not happen with previous versions of Kubuntu. I'm not sure if this is a packaging issue or a Kile bug.

I get the following message when opening Kile from Konsole:

Object::connect: No such signal org::freedesktop::UPower::DeviceAdded(QDBusObjectPath)
Object::connect: No such signal org::freedesktop::UPower::DeviceRemoved(QDBusObjectPath)
Bus::open: Can not get ibus-daemon's address.
IBusInputContext::createInputContext: no connection to ibus-daemon
kile(26950)/kdecore (K*TimeZone*): KSystemTimeZones: ktimezoned initialize() D-Bus call failed: "Did not receive a reply. Possible causes include: the remote application did not send a reply, the message bus security policy blocked the reply, the reply timeout expired, or the network connection was broken.

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Start Kile
2. Try to access toolbar buttons
Actual Results:
The buttons are not clickable until after about a minute.

Expected Results:
The buttons are immediately clickable.

Are there any other KDE applications, which show this issue?
Comment 2 Michael D 2014-06-04 11:47:20 UTC
No other applications exhibit this behavior. Also, it does not happen on my Kubuntu 14.04 systems that were upgraded from 13.10.

I take it back. It does happen on my Kubuntu 14.04 systems that were upgraded from 13.10, though it didn't always.
