Currently album metadata is only stored in DB. In my workflow I heavily depend on metadata being stored with my collection (for backups and syncing with other computers), which makes album metadata difficult for me to use.

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Change album metadata
2. Copy collection to another computer/remove the DB/restore DB from collection metadata

Actual Results:  
Album metadata is lost

Expected Results:  
Album metadata is preserved

I mentioned sidecar as it is used for image files without metadata support. If this idea could be copied for album metadata it would solve my problem.

Thank you for the bug report. Unfortunately we were not able to get to it yet. Can we ask you to please check if this is still an issue with digiKam 8.8.0.
