Bug 334458

Summary: Attachments in /tmp are NOT opened read-only

Description Gauss 2014-05-07 10:39:33 UTC
While some people complain(ed) about attachments being opened read-only for me the opposite is happening. If I click on an attachment in Kmail, the attachment of the mail is saved in some /tmp/kde-<username>/kontact-<..>/ folder having read-write permissions, which I consider dangerous. If a mail has more then one attachment the other files are saved too in /tmp, though these all have read-only permissions and realy only the file I clicked on has read-write.

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Open attachment by clicking on it (do not save it)
Actual Results:
File has read-write permissions.

Expected Results:
File should be read-only.

This bug has only been reported for versions before 4.14, which have been unsupported for at least two years now. Can anyone tell if this bug still present?

If noone confirms this bug for a Framework-based version of kmail2 (version 5.0 or later, as part of KDE Applications 15.12 or later), it gets closed in about three months.

Just as announced in my last comment, I close this bug. If you encounter it again in a recent version (at least 5.0 aka 15.08), please open a new one unless it already exists. Thank you for all your input.
