Description Luiz Angelo De Luca 2014-05-06 19:34:35 UTC
Hello,

I pasted the path: /home/REDETRESC/luizluca/prog-local/socat-1.7.2.4/socat.bz2 into a open dialog and it gave me an error "You can only select local files". At the directory address (top editbox), it shows:

 /home/REDETRESC/luizluca/prog-local/socat-1.7.2.4/socat.bz2/

I can reproduce it even with kdialog:

kdialog --getopenfilename ~

And paste the /home/REDETRESC/luizluca/prog-local/socat-1.7.2.4/socat.bz2 path

BTW, the file exists.

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1.kdialog --getopenfilename ~
2.paste a full path file

Actual Results:
3. gets an error for "non-local file"

Expected Results:
3. it should open the file

I got this msg in strerr that might be useful:

QFileInfo::absolutePath: Constructed with empty filename

what version are you using?
It works for me with:
Qt: 4.8.6
KDE Development Platform: 4.12.4
KDialog: 1.0
openSUSE Tumbleweed

Any news? I can't simply fill /tmp/file.xxx in filename box
Comment 5 Nate Graham 2018-04-10 21:55:54 UTC
Works for me in KDE Frameworks 5.45.
