Description Barade 2014-04-27 22:53:01 UTC
The feature to move annotations by Ctrl+Dragging is quite hidden (only available through the manual). You should a menu entry "Move annotation"!

Reproducible: Always

Can you please explain how the whole interaction behind this "Move annotation"! would work?
Comment 2 Barade 2014-04-28 09:20:23 UTC
You would select an annotation, right click and see in the context menu the entry "Move" or alternatively in the menu "Edit" you could add "Move annotation" and the user has to select an annotation afterwards.
When the "Move action is applied, the annotation is attached to the cursor, so wherever you move the cursor the annotation is moved with. When pressing the mouse key it releases the annotation at the current position.

Alternatively, drag and drop should work without Ctrl+! I think most people won't get how to move annotations otherwise (except when reading the manual).

Yes, let's make drag and drop work without control, so that once you have a full page annotation you can't pan anymore becasue instead you end up dragging the annotation.

No.

Did you read the first suggestion at all?! It seems that you are not open for any critics at all (see other bug reports).
Comment 5 Albert Astals Cid 2014-04-28 20:27:02 UTC
I did read the suggestion. A move annotation in the Edit menu is not a good idea at all, a right click context menu would be workable, but our menus are more than big enough already.

Ctrl+drag is a *very* used pattern for moving stuff in "editing" applications and is explained in the manual and in "Google how do i move an annotation in okular"

So I do not think there is a need for change.

I am open to suggestions, i am as well capable of deciding to ignore them.
