KMail versions up to 4.4 worked without Akonadi. Unfortunately, I know of no distribution offering packages, but you can still compile the old version from source (using it here).
All other mailer softwares I know (including Micro$oft ones) can handle millions of mails without problem. IMHO it is a shame that nobody tries to resolve this, after a half year (or at least accept the bug), however, KMail is completely unusable in this state. Or is this report incorrect? I tried it again: 90 minutes was not enough to filter ~100k messages (killed it at 8%). My current version: KMail VerziĆ³: 1.13.7 KDE Development Platform 4.8.4 (4.8.4) Regards Gyorgy Kovesdi This bug has only been reported for versions before 4.14, which have been unsupported for at least two years now. Can anyone tell if this bug still present? If noone confirms this bug for a Framework-based version of kmail2 (version 5.0 or later, as part of KDE Applications 15.12 or later), it gets closed in about three months. Just as announced in my last comment, I close this bug. If you encounter it again in a recent version (at least 5.0 aka 15.08), please open a new one unless it already exists. Thank you for all your input. |
