Description Stuart Dickson 2014-04-23 09:55:06 UTC
Currently there is no way for a user to create a palette from the palette docker

(Note that the existing "+" icon for "add foreground colour" could be potentially confusing once this feature is added

I think we should not populate the main docker with additional buttons.

For adding palettes I was thinking to list a dummy palette inside the "choose palette" popup.
The palette could be listed in the same space as the current palettes at the bottom of the list, this way if the user does not find what he wants he is given an option to add/create a new palette.

The add palette has to look distinctive, a tiny bit different than the others. Adding a text like "Create New palette" and instead of the swatches adding two fields: One for setting the number of columns (could be a spinner widget) and a button with a big '+' symbol, would probably make the dummy palette listing bigger, solving probably, the first issue, of being distinctive.

This way you avoid having a bunch of similar icons in the main docker GUI.

Another way, probably the easiest/fastest way would be to add a "+" button at the bottom left inside the "Choose palette" widget. Still there needs to be a GUI option to set the desired palette column count. And it would conflict with the current + button as you are inside an action, the Choose palette action.

Just do it like in the workspace chooser and integrate it directly into the palette chooser.

Either is fine with me.

This one seems to be implemented now? Can we resolve this?

This is fixed.
