Thanks for the bug report. I'll reassign to Baloo (which provides the widget inside the Information Panel). Further info: This bug applies to files under $HOME, but for files under /srv, the tags and ratings are shown OK. On my system: 1. both $HOME and /srv are indexed 2. $HOME is an NFS share mounted from another machine, /srv is on the local machine Probably a duplicate of bug 333553 Could be because NFS does not support file system extended attributes <http://tools.ietf.org/html/draft-naik-nfsv4-xattrs-00> ? With 5.1, we no longer support tags, ratings or comments in file systems that do not support xattr. You will no longer be able to set tags in these file systems. Wouldn't it be best if the tags ratings & comments options were removed altogether from the information panel where the filesystem doesn't support them. Also for read-only files? This would stop a user trying to use them and then wondering why they don't work.
