Description Martin Koller 2014-03-26 08:56:30 UTC
When I search all folders for a text which matches a lot of mails (e.g. > 5000) the result COUNT is shown very quickly (e.g. the bottom status line contains "5357 matches") but the list of found mails stays empty for a rather long time (20 seconds or so).
While this is not a problem when I finally see the list, it is not very user friendly to show nothing for such a long time.

I'm using only local maildir with about 83k mails

Reproducible: Always

Expected Results:
It would be very helpful to show some "busy" indicator somewhere until the list has been filled (or simply do not switch to the "finished" state by keeping the "Search" button in the "Stop" label until the list is filled)

This bug has only been reported for versions before 4.14, which have been unsupported for at least two years now. Can anyone tell if this bug still present?

If noone confirms this bug for a Framework-based version of kmail2 (version 5.0 or later, as part of KDE Applications 15.12 or later), it gets closed in about three months.

Just as announced in my last comment, I close this bug. If you encounter it again in a recent version (at least 5.0 aka 15.08), please open a new one unless it already exists. Thank you for all your input.
