Description Grósz Dániel 2014-02-23 17:21:23 UTC
When WebKitPart is used, the font on web sites that use Open Sans appear very dense, nearly unreadable at common font sizes. (I'm not sure if other fonts are affected.)

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
Open e. g. one of the following web sites:
bugs.kde.org
qt-project.org
http://www.google.com/fonts/specimen/Open+Sans (Here, interestingly, only the sentence on the top is affected.)
Actual Results:
Font very dense.

Expected Results:
Font looks normal, like in other browsers.

The same font is not dense in Firefox, Chromium and even in Rekonq, which, AFAIK, uses the same webkitpart as Konqueror. When KHTML is used in Konqueror, the font is dense at first, and then switches to the normal font a few seconds later.

This gives me the appearance that the dense font is some "default" font that is used until the actual Open Sans is loaded, and webkitpart in Konqueror cannot load it ever for some reason. If this is the case, the default font should be less dense too, and it should be possible to change it.

I'll upload screenshots soon.

I cannot reproduce this issue. These sites look fine to me.
Comment 6 Allan Sandfeld 2014-02-24 15:11:02 UTC
I can not reproduce either.
Comment 7 Grósz Dániel 2014-03-02 04:13:37 UTC
A recent openSUSE update appears to have fixed this at me.
Comment 8 Grósz Dániel 2014-03-11 22:03:43 UTC
It's strange: the issue does not happen in a freshly opened Konqueror, but it does if it has been open for some time. This also means it's possible that it happens in other browsers too, I just haven't used them for enough time.

I'll comment if I get a clue as to when it happens.
