Highlighter highlights all the line instead of breaking at column width and continuing on next column when pdf is organized in 2 columns. 

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1.open pdf formated with text in 2 columns (like a scientific paper)
2.use highlighter to highlight text (more than one line)

Actual Results:  
Highlighter highlights text from both columns instead of selecting text from the columns of interest.

Expected Results:  
highlighter should have selected text from only one column.

in some documents there are some pages where the hilghlighter behaved as expected and others where it doesn't

Should be a duplicate of bug #329807, and therefore fixed (as reported by Albert Astals Cid).

I have found that it does not happen in every page. it looks like it has to do with pages with multiple formattings (images on them or text in other format)

please notice tat some pages are handled correctly but others aren't.
