Please read the manual. As I did not discover this feature of Okular immediately, for those who find out about this feature through this bug report, a small shortcut: Double-Click the icon to permanently select it. Esc to escape that. My okular version is 1.3.3 Double-click works in Ubuntu 18.04 but I would like to know whether something is going to be done by the developers so that: - clicking once is enough to keep the tool active after using it once. and - typing the number of each tool is enough to keep the tool active after using it once.
