Description giacof 2014-01-21 23:28:39 UTC
When I click on 'Install updates', after entering my password the window is refreshed but nothing happens: the same initial view with the selected updates is still shown.

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1. select some updates by checking the corresponding checkboxes
2. click on 'Install updates'
3.
Actual Results:
the window is refreshed and the status bar displays for a very short time (less than one second) the following sequence of text messages:

'loading software list' (*)
'Applying changes'
'loading software list' (*)
'finished' (*)

Then the initial view with the same selected updates is shown back.
Thus nothing is really updated/installed!

(*) translated from my local language

Expected Results:
Updates should have been installed

commands apt-get [update|upgrade] work fine from console
I use a proxy, that is configured in the /etc/apt.conf file

Are you sure that you did not reload the packages first? (more menu check for updates, or ctrl-r).

If not, can you reproduce this always? Across muon-updater restarts and system reboots?
Comment 3 giacof 2014-02-01 21:12:08 UTC
I tried reloading updates several times, but the bug persists.
It is happening again right now, after many reboots since the first occurrence.

I finally clicked on exit and tried to launch muon-updater from the console. The output is:

Comment 5 Harald Sitter 2014-02-02 23:08:34 UTC
Does the bug happen *without* reloading first?

i.e. open muon-updater and immediately click on the apply updates button.
Comment 6 giacof 2014-02-05 09:33:12 UTC
ok, I tried again without reloading first and it worked out... very odd behavior
